About

Hi, I’m Cody Burleson and I write this blog to record what I learn as I work with enterprise-class platforms such as IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM Web Content Manager, IBM Connections, and Java/J2EE. Mainly, I record this stuff because I don’t trust my own brain to remember it. I also hope that my notes might save others time and trouble. I get a lot of help in my work from other people’s posts, so this is a small way that I try to give back.

I am an Enterprise Web Solution Architect with sixteen years of professional experience. I began my career working as the Creative Director for an interactive design boutique called Studio Interactive. In those days, I spent a lot of time developing interactive media and customer-facing web sites. When we were acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwC), I began focusing on portal platforms and content management systems. We were later acquired by IBM, where I honed my skills as a Senior Managing Consultant working with industry-leading platforms. I now represent Base22 – a company which my colleagues and I founded in September of 2007. Note: Opinions expressed in the blog are not necessarily those of Base22.

It’s Been Said About Me

“Cody is one of my favorite lead architects. He is intelligent, and courageous - dared to try different things to improve the solution. More importantly, he is so pleasant to work with. What I am impressed most is that he not only listened to clients, and the management but also to the people he managed and led. In his project, I was encouraged to think outside of the box and at the same time, he is there to help me if there is a hiccup. What else more can you ask for a great leader?!” - Ming-tzung Dung, IT Architect, IBM, September 2008.
